Submission Preparation Checklist
Checklist for Submission Preparation
As part of the submission process, authors are required to check that their submission meets all of the following items. Submissions that do not meet these guidelines will be returned to the authors.
- The submission has not been previously published or considered by any other journal (or an explanation for this has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
- The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect format. Where possible, URLs for references are provided.
- The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Guidelines for Authors, which appear in About the Journal.
Artículos
The Journal Sin Fundamento accepts articles in Spanish, Portuguese, and English of the following types:
- Scientific research articles: with their respective introduction, methodology, results, and conclusions.
- Reflection articles derived from research: academic essays that present research results from an analytical, interpretive, or critical perspective on a specific topic and with the use of original sources.
- Review articles: studies that analyze or systematize research results on a specific scientific field and problem.
The length of the article must be between 3,000 and 10,000 words. However, the Editorial Committee will analyze exceptional cases in particular.
The articles, in any of their types, must include an analytical summary of approximately six (6) lines and five (5) key words in the original language with its respective translation into English. The summary of the articles must meet the characteristics of the analytical summary. In this section, the synthesis of the concepts, approaches, proposals, or ideas must be presented, according to the structural organization of the original text and highlighting its essential elements.
Article evaluation process
Article proposals received in each call for papers will be evaluated twice. The first evaluation is carried out by the editor, advised by the editorial assistant, to determine compliance with the minimum requirements established by the Journal. If the result of this first evaluation is negative, the author will be informed so that, if desired, he/she can make the required changes. If the author does not make them in the allotted time, the article will be deemed rejected.
Articles approved in the evaluation described above will begin the evaluation by academic peers, preferably two (double-blind peer). The general rule is that these peers are chosen from academic databases. The evaluation reports will focus on scientific quality, structure, argumentation, use of bibliographic references, rigor in handling the subject, the category of the writing, according to the aforementioned classification of articles, and respect for copyright and the ethical standards of the Journal.
The editor, based on the opinions of the academic peers, will give one of three responses to the author:
- Rejected,
- Accepted with modifications,
- Accepted without modifications.
The editor will set the dates for the submission of the works with the necessary corrections, with a view to a new formal and linguistic evaluation.
Once the text is accepted and submitted, with the indicated corrections, the author, through the appropriate format, agrees to its publication, but not before transferring the author's property rights and expressly reiterating that his/her work is unpublished material.
Only texts prepared with rigor, according to the guidelines of this guide, will enter the evaluation process.
Reviews
Sin Fundamento welcomes reviews in Spanish, Portuguese and English of books published within a period of no more than 5 years. Their length should not exceed 5,000 words.
Translations
Sin Fundamento only accepts translations into Spanish of texts originally written in other languages. It is important to be clear that the copyright of the text being translated allows its translation and publication in the Journal. This information must be included in the proposal in order to pass the first review by the Journal's editorial team.
It is recommended that its length not exceed 10,000 words. However, the Editorial Committee will analyze exceptional cases.
